CompassLearning Odyssey Update Includes Standards Alignments, LMS Integration

Educational software publisher CompassLearning has released a summer version of CompassLearning Odyssey, which provides assessments, curriculum, and reporting for individualized instruction of primary and secondary school students. The latest update, available now, includes improved alignment with educational standards and integration with other learning management systems.

CompassLearning Odyssey is an online platform that helps school districts target subjects where students are in need of improvement. Students complete assessments, personalized lessons, and activities, and teachers have access to curriculum and reporting tools to monitor student progress. In addition, parents are provided with log-in credentials to monitor student progress. Odyssey also provides online tools for students and teachers to communicate.

New features included in the summer 2013 update to CompassLearning Odyssey include:

  • Alignment with Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment changes made during the summer;
  • The ability to create learning paths for students based on MAP scores, and provides supplemental activities;
  • Improved alignment with Common Core State Standards, including more than 100 enhancements to authentic task activities, and biology, math and reading and language arts videos and quizzes; and
  • Integration with other learning tools interoperability-compliant learning management systems.

In addition, the summer 2013 update includes an updated help library online with search functionality, which includes teacher, administrator, and reporting guides. It also provides tips for tasks such as creating an assignment from scratch or how to register a student.
