Jupiter Ed Integrates SIS, LMS, Analytics in New Cloud-Based System

Jupiter Ed has launched Jupiter iO, a cloud solution that combines a student information system, learning management system, analytics, and gradebook for K-12 schools.

Billed as an "all-in-one solution for improving student academic achievement," Jupiter iO includes:

  • Jupiter SIS, a Web-based student information system;
  • Jupiter Grades, a gradebook that includes seating charts, attendance, calendars, curriculum maps, reporting tools, and e-ail alerts;
  • Juno/Jupiter LMS, a learning management system that offers automatic grading, analytics, a curriculum library, online quizzes with support for a variety of question types (multiple choice, multiple answer, true/false, matching, sorting, and write-in), and support for flipped learning environments; and
  • Jupiter Analytics.

"An integrated all-in-one solution makes everything so much easier for schools," said David Hundsness, Jupiter Ed founder, in a prepared statement. "With Jupiter iO, a student can study a tutorial on their tablet while their teacher monitors their progress, then take an online test, which feeds directly to the teacher's gradebook, which is part of the SIS data warehouse, where administrators can run analytics to measure the effectiveness of the both the curriculum and the teacher."

Jupiter iO runs about $35 to $50 per teacher per year, depending on the license. Additional details can be found on Jupiter Ed's site.
