Ecolab Awards $912,000 in Visions for Learning Grants

Ecolab has awarded $912,000 in grants to K-12 teachers this year through its Visions for Learning program.

The program provides "curriculum-enhancing materials" to "help teachers augment classroom curriculum to increase understanding of academic content, raise student achievement and emphasize the connection between school and life," according to information on the company's Web site.

This year's winning projects "include molecular interaction supplies for a biochemistry class, a set of percussion instruments to enhance hands-on musical experiences, a robotics curriculum that integrates STEM and literacy skills, and independent reading books focused on diverse cultures and communities," according to an Ecolab news release.

280 schools received Funds from the Visions for Learning program, including those in the company's own St. Paul, MN area, where educators were awarded $200,000.

"Saint Paul Public Schools students are so fortunate to have had the support of Ecolab for many years," said Superintendent Valeria Silva, in a prepared statement. "Ecolab understands that all parts of the community must work together to ensure the strength and effectiveness of our public schools."
