WIN Learning Launches Career Readiness System

WIN Learning has launched the WIN Career Readiness System, a new digital teaching and learning solution designed to prepare high school students for college and careers.

The system consists for four components plus an embedded assessment system powered by Kuder, all of which are accessible through a single sign-on portal.

The four components include:

  • myStrategic Compass, a career exploration, planning and guidance tool;
  • WIN College Readiness Courseware (CRC+), a digital test preparation curriculum designed to help prepare students for college pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, reading and writing;
  • WIN Career Readiness Courseware, which is designed to assess and improve students' job skills, such as applied math, locating information and reading for information; and
  • WIN Soft Skills, which is designed to teach skills such as professionalism, effective communication, teamwork and collaboration, critical thinking and problem solving.

myStrategicCompass is an existing WIN Learning product that has been updated for its inclusion in the Career Readiness System.

Features of myStrategicCompass include:

  • Class planning tool to help high school students map their course path to their career or college aspirations;
  • College and degree program profiles;
  • Searchable database of national scholarships and grant programs;
  • Resume and cover letter builders;
  • E-portfolio that can be emailed directly to employers;
  • Reference bank;
  • Sample and practice job applications; and
  • Kuder-powered assessments that are "designed to prompt learners to explore career pathways aligned with their interests, skills and work values.

The portal also includes career-readiness dashboards for students, facilitators and administrators that offer performance reports; digital e-badges that track content progress; downloadable digital certificates of completion/mastery; centralized user management; and WIN University, which is an online library of implementation and professional development resources.

The WIN Career Readiness System will be available in August 2014 and will support "most conventional browsers and tablets," including the iPad, Kindle Fire and Samsung tablet.
