Canon Debuts WUXGA LCoS Installation Projector

Canon REALiS WUX6000

Canon has added a new high-resolution, high-light-output installation projector to its REALiS line of LCoS-based projectors.

The REALiS WUX6000 offers a 1,920 x 1,200 (WUXGA) resolution and has a brightness rating of 6,000 lumens, with a contrast ratio of up to 2,000:1. It also offers an Ethernet (RJ-45 port) with support for up to 1000BaseT. It uses a 0.71-inch LCoS (liquid crystal on silicon) reflective LCD.

Other features include:

  • ±20 degree vertical and horizontal keystone correction;
  • Motorized lens shift;
  • Powered zoom and focus (zoom dependent on the lens option selected); and
  • Network support.

AV inputs include HDMI, DVI-D, RGB (mini D-sub 15-pin), DVI-I and two stereo minijacks. Outputs include one stereo minijack. Networking and control ports include RJ-45 and RS-232C.

The new model offers five optional lenses, with throw ratios of 1.5:1 - 2.25:1 (standard zoom); 2.2:1 - 3.75:1 (long focus zoom); 0.8:1  (ultra wide angle); 3.7 ∼ 7.3:1  (ultra long focus); and 1.03:1 - 1.54:1 (short focus).

The The REALiS WUX6000 and The REALiS WUX6000 D (a separate model that offers DICOM simulation support) run $5,499 and $6,149, respectively. Both are expected to be available in November. Additional details can be found at Canon's projector portal.
