Shmoop Adds College Selection Tool, Resume Builder

Shmoop has launched a pair of tools designed to help students select which colleges are right for them and to prepare for the working world.

The first, Shmoop's College Planning Tool, asks students a series of academic, cultural and financial questions. Based on their answers, Shmoop provides a list of safety, target and reach schools, along with cost-effectiveness ratings. Students can then learn more about schools they're interested in through Shmoop's college profiles.

"Once they've chosen which schools they'll apply to, students will need to prepare killer applications," according to a news release. "Shmoop already offers a College Application Essay Lab and dozens of articles about the application process — and now it will help students build their resumes, too. Shmoop's new Resume Redux is like Mad Libs for resumes: students fill in the blanks, and Shmoop spits out a fancy, formatted resume."
