New Projector Series Has Multiple 'Smart' Features
ViewSonic has introduced a new networkable series of
projectors with a number of new "smart" features.
The LightStream PJD6 networkable series of projectors
will
offer secured wireless streaming, enhanced integrated sound, an
integrated
cable management system and a "My Button" auto configuration mode.
The LightStream projectors are based on ViewSonic's
existing
SuperColor technology, which offers a newly designed color wheel and
3,200 to
3,800 lumens of brightness. Company representatives said this technology offers
color accuracy
without sacrificing brightness levels.
The new projectors will have an integrated
compartment
supporting a MHL/HDMI port that allows users to wirelessly stream
multimedia content
via a dongle, which provides copy and content projection.
The "My Button" feature gives the user the ability to
configure his or her preferred settings with a simple click and, with a
single
remote, the ability to operate up to eight projectors in the same room.
A new
intuitive keyboard layout on the LightStream projectors allows users to
operate
the projector without on-screen display menus.
Other features of the new projector series:
- 1,024 x 768 and 1,280 x 800 resolution;
- 15,000-to-1 dynamic contrast;
- 10,000-hour lamp life;
- An integrated speaker for greater frequency range and
minimal
distortion; and
- Multiple audio and video inputs.
Seven versions of the LightStream series of
projectors, all
available in the second quarter of 2015, will range in price from
$599.99 to
$999.99.
The PortAll dongle — for which a patent is still
pending —
will be available for $149.99.
The LightStream projectors are on display at Booth
756 at FETC, the educational technology
conference and tradeshow held January 20-23 in
Orlando.
