VideoCentric Launches Videoconferencing-as-a-Service

VideoCentric, a video communications integrator, has launched VideoCloud 365,  a new cloud-based videoconferencing service based on the Pexip Infinity virtualized meeting platform.

VideoCentric describes the VideoCloud 365 videoconferencing-as-a-service (VaaS) system as an "anything-to-anything" service for secure, high-definition virtual meeting rooms and point-to-point gateways. The system supports any professional videoconferencing endpoint, including any standards-based video system, Microsoft Lync, Office 365 clients, Skype, WebRTC (Web real-time communication) clients, desktop software clients, smartphone and tablet applications and Web browsers. For organizations using Microsoft Lync, the system also supports bi-directional data sharing.

The VideoCloud 365 service is hosted in an energy-efficient data center in the UK, so organizations can implement the system without deploying any infrastructure on their own network. According to information on VideoCentric's site, the data center is located in a government-grade secure campus that uses a multilayered approach to security and exceeds the requirements of ISO27001 and PCI DSS certification.

Key features of VideoCloud 365 include:

• Up to 1080p high-definition (HD) videoconferencing, HD audio conferencing and HD data sharing;
• Two-way Microsoft Lync data sharing with any professional video conferencing system;
• Support for all old, new and future protocols, including ISDN;
• Professional WebRTC client application;
• Non-WebRTC enabled browser access without plugins;
• Functionality as a high definition audio bridge; and
• Fully customizable virtual meeting rooms and Web applications to match branding.
