NEC Debuts HD Ultra-Short-Throw Projector

NEC Display Solutions of America has introduced the U321H projector.NEC Display Solutions of America has introduced a new HD-resolution projector, one of the first with ultra-short-throw capabilities.

The new U321H has a throw ratio of 0.25:1, helping to eliminate shadows on the screen along with the projected light in the presenter’s eyes that is sometimes created by traditional front projection systems. The projector includes an 8-watt speaker, closed captioning and remote management features.

Its ECO Mode technology can increase the life of the lamp to up to 4,000 hours, all while lowering power consumption and maintenance costs. It is compatible with NEC's DisplayNote Software, an app that lets presenters and participants present and share content from any platform or device. In late July, the U321H will also feature either multi-pen or finger-touch modules.

Among other features of the U321H include:

  • A dedicated HDMI/MHL input;
  • Vertical keystone correction;
  • Dual HDMI inputs;
  • 3D display; and
  • 10,000:1 contrast ratio.

The projector is available as a bundle with a wall mount kit.

With a 2-year limited parts and labor warranty, the U321H projector is now available at an estimated $2,299. With the multi-pen module and custom wall mount, the cost in July will be $2,949 and the bundle including the projector, touch module and wall mount will cost $3,249.
