Apple Recognizes Model Educators
In a move to promote excellence and leadership in the field of educational technology, Apple Computer has created the Apple Distinguished Educator Program, comprised of exemplary educators who contribute their expertise for two years to help other educators integrate technology into the classroom. Their charter is to conduct workshops, make presentations and give demonstrations as well as act in an advisory capacity to Apple. Apple supports their efforts with professional development opportunities, technical support and recognition. A new group of up to 100 distinguished educators are nominated and trained every two years. Once accepted, participants attend a three-day certification program at the firm's corporate headquarters. Apple is planning an annual summer convocation where they can collaborate on special interest projects. Apple Computer, Inc., Cupertino, CA, (800) 462-4396, www.apple.com.
