100,000 Pages of OTA Reports Available

The congressional Office of Technology Assessment (OTA), which formally closed its doors last fall, delivered its final legacy to the Congress in the form of a CD-ROM collection of all 755 research reports prepared for the Congress over the agency's 23-year history.

The reports span the science and technology-related subjects covered by the OTA over the years -- including defense, space, energy, environment, education, transportation, health, agriculture, telecommunications and advanced materials.

The collection is fully indexed and stored in portable document format (PDF), readable using Adobe's cross-platform Acrobat reader software.

OTA's CD-ROM collection is available from the Superintendent of Documents, P.O. Box 371954, Pittsburgh, PA 15250-7974, (202) 512-1800. Its Government Printing Office stock number is S/N 052-003-01457-2 and it is priced at $23. Printed copies of other OTA reports are available.

All OTA publications are also available on paper or microfiche from the National Technical Information Service, (703) 487-4650; for rush orders call (800) 553-NTIS.

Finally, many OTA titles are accessible via the archival locations of OTA Online (www.access. gpo.gov/ota), the National Academy of Sciences (www.ota.nap.edu), and the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University (www.wws.princeton.edu).
