Learn How Fiction Works From Inside

Literature Tutor is a unique program that helps students read literature more closely, while encouraging exploratory writing as a means of understanding how fiction works: how it is constructed, acquires meaning and affects readers. Students have a full range of tools at their disposal, the program guiding them through the concepts of character, plot, setting, point of view, symbolism and theme. The program is well suited for less-experienced readers and non-native speakers, providing them a systematic approach that helps manage the otherwise sometimes daunting task of critical thinking. Literature Tutor, now in Version 3.0, was created by a community college English professor. Westchester Community College, Valhalla, NY, (914) 785-6600.
