Partnership Benefits Higher Ed. Community

The Corporation for Research & Educational Networking (CREN) and ADP Autonet have joined forces to offer Internet services for higher education faculty, students and alumni. Highlights include national dial-up access, credit card billing and reduced rates for non-prime usage. This partnership suits the needs of universities to serve highly mobile communities of Internet users, such as traveling faculty, vacationing students and relocated alumni. Alumni could, for example, maintain contact with classmates via e-mail or pursue continuing education. CREN and ADP will also provide customers with flexible billing alternatives and an authentication service that validates a user's ID upon network sign-on. ADP Autonet is a business unit of Automatic Data Processing (Roseland, N.J.), and offers wide area networking in over 250 U.S. cities.
