Students Gain Insight and Vocabulary

World of Words helps students improve their vocabulary. Combining text, graphics and sound, the software provides multiple ways to learn -- and prepares students for the PSAT and SAT tests. World of Words stars a teenage guide named Luther who uses vocabulary from previous SATs in stories and illustrations about his favorite bands and musicians. Luther's stories are relevant to teens' own experiences, thus providing easy "hooks" for learning. Users are given the opportunity to create their own stories and images, reinforcing vocabulary acquisition in a personally meaningful context. The software addresses the decline in SAT scores by teaching for true understanding versus memorization. World of Words is particularly suited to high school students preparing for the PSAT/SAT and middle school students studying for the SSAT.
