Videos Profile Tech. For Disabled Students

The National Center to Improve Practice (NCIP) has released four new videos illustrating how the effective implementation of technology made a dramatic difference in the lives of students with disabilities. In the first video, a high school student with LD/ADD uses HyperCard to work cooperatively with her non-disabled peers. The second video highlights a high school student with severe speech and motor impairments who uses word-prediction software to work toward independence in writing. In the third profile, elementary school students who are hearing impaired use a sequenced approach to story writing that integrates video and word processing. The fourth video is about a blind student that uses Braille On Speak, a portable writing tool, to support her full inclusion in high school.
