Mac Network Utilities Get Added Features

The newest versions of Remote Control for Macs (RCM) and Digital Valet for Macs (DVM) supply new functionality to network administrators. Version 3.0 of RCM offers new security features such as the ability to lock students into working with only the specified application. A new scripting capability automates a whole lab of Macs for a class period or a full day. New convenience features are also present. Version 3.0 of DVM (formerly Digital Ditto) now allows one to gather key data about networked Macs, plus monitors and displays user activity on the central Mac. New scheduling powers give more flexibility in timing operations, such as downloading from a network server late at night. A free demo is on their Web site.
