Canon Lowers VIZCAM Price for Ed. by $300

Through Canon's new Commitment to Education Program, schools can purchase the VIZCAM 1000 desktop camera for $995, a savings of $300. Students and teachers can use the VIZCAM to digitize pictures from almost any source including books, magazines, photos, slides, negatives and 3D objects.

A rugged three-axis articulated arm rotates 180 degrees at the base and camera head, and "locks" into position. Other highlights include a resolution of 450 TVL and macro viewing as close as 5/16".

The unit's lightweight, rugged design permits easy transport and withstands the rigors of day-to-day use. The Global SchoolNet Foundation, a long-time user of VIZCAM, features a desktop videoconferencing section on their web site (http://www.gsn.org); visit it and register for a free copy of CU-SeeMe videoconferencing software, available while supplies last.
