Ease Integration of the Internet in the Classroom

In an effort to help busy and technophobic educators integrate the Internet into their classroom curriculum, Classroom Connect offers 100 Activities for the Online Classroom. It is available in three editions: Primary (grades K-2), Intermediate (grades 3-5) and Middle School (grades 6-8). Each edition features a binder with a 16-page introductory booklet, five 48-page content-area activity booklets and a Web site with up-to-date URL addresses and downloadable activity pages. The five booklets feature Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies and Extra Curricular (music, fine arts, health, technology) topics.

Most of the Internet-based activities can be completed in 30 minutes, making them ideal for computer lab and classroom settings. Each edition also contains five multi-day WebQuest activities to show how the Internet can be integrated into the curriculum on an even grander scale. Included in the package are reproducible student pages and a Web site with the latest URL addresses for every activity.

The site also offers educators an easy-to-navigate, online teacher's guide, which features a glossary, assessment sheets, Netiquette and Net citation guidelines, teacher tips and more. Teachers are encouraged to share their success stories and communicate with each other online. Classroom Connect, El Segundo, CA, (800) 638-1639, www.classroom.com.
