New Releases - World Book Encyclopedia Offers CD-ROM Titles

IBM's new World Book Millennium 2000 product line features the following three CD-ROM editions, Standard, Deluxe and Premier Reference Library. A special Surf the Millennium section allows students to visit each century of the past millennium in a realistic setting with text written from each century's perspective. Students can return to a modern day retrospective look by selecting the View from 2000 icon, which brings them back to the traditional encyclopedia content and commentaries.

World Book Millennium 2000 Standard Edition is a single CD-ROM that contains all the articles from the World Book Encyclopedia print set plus online access to every World Book Year Book article dating back to the original volume first published in 1917. Integrated multimedia features include virtual reality tours, cartographically accurate maps, full color photographs and illustrations, video and audio. The Deluxe Edition is a two CD-ROM title that adds a Homework Toolkit for students and more integrated multimedia features. The Premier Reference Library expands to four CD-ROMS and includes a collection of reference titles such as Rand McNally New Millennium World Atlas Deluxe, Merriam-Webster Reference Library and Information Please Almanacs in addition to everything in the Standard and Deluxe editions.
