Networking - JVC's new MC-7000 Series of DVD-RAM libraries

JVC's new MC-7000 Series of DVD-RAM libraries, or storage disc "jukeboxes," consist of three models having 260GB (100 discs), 520GB (200 discs) and 1.6TB (600 discs) of data storage capacity. They can be used in many applications where backup of images and audio and video recordings are necessary. With rewritable technology and four times the capacity of CD, the libraries are well suited for schools facing an ever-growing need for more storage capacity. They feature 50-disc removable magazines, 1x DVD-RAM drives and a SCSI-2 interface, and can support up to six drives.

Depending on the model, the disc loading time varies from 2.5 seconds to 4.5 seconds. The MC-7000 Series was designed with reliability features that include air-tight enclosures, disc transport on trays, MSBF of 2.5 million cycles and support for local/remote diagnostics via RS-232C port.
