Newsroom Expands Coverage

CNN Newsroom, celebrating its tenth season, is offering expanded news team coverage to schools around the world. To provide viewers with more variety and broader news coverage, a new team of four rotating anchors/reporters will host the program and issue reports from locations worldwide.

"It is important for students to see the CNN Newsroom anchors out in the field, gathering the news," said Dr. John Richards, senior vice president and general manager of Turner Learning, Inc. "This not only makes the news more credible for students, but adds a real-world element to the program by making the news more relevant for students. The new format will help teachers fit parts of the program into their curriculum as well."

Airing weekdays at 4:30am (ET) on CNN, CNN Newsroom is a cost-free, commercial-free 30-minute news and features program intended for schools. It is designed for teachers to select individual segments that complement their curriculum. Schools can record each day's program and use it as best fits respective lesson plans.
