Interactive Video-conferencing Over IP

Broadband Networks’ PowerPlay, an H.323 compliant digital multimedia system for transport over any IP-based network, provides videoconferencing and collaboration capabilities that help fulfill the promise of the H.323 standard for use over IP. Its high performance H.323 functionality over any IP-based network (Ethernet, ATM or SONET) allows it to connect four to six participants in multipoint videoconferences without a multi-conferencing unit (MCU). IPContact software supports H.261 and MPEG1 video codecs. All video streams are full motion (30 fps) with 16-bit stereo quality audio.

Other features of PowerPlay include a family of integrated 700MHz workstations, 900MHz Rollabouts and 1200 MHz conference room setups that can all be plugged into any CAT5 LAN connection. A far end device control for remote sources like video cameras, VCRs and DVD players can be used for remote playback of streaming multimedia.
