Cable Listings - CNN Newsroom

Four CNN producers and writers are acting as news anchors and reporters hosting CNN Newsroom, the half-hour, commercial-free news and features program for schools. Designed for teachers to select individual segments that complement classroom curriculum, CNN Newsroom brings world news and events into the classroom via the day’s top news stories and in-depth feature reports from around the world. The program airs weekdays at 4:30 a.m. ET on CNN and is accompanied by a daily classroom guide available online at www.turnerlearning.com, containing discussion questions, activity suggestions and key Web sites. CNN Newsroom begins each day with Today’s News, followed by Your Daily Desk, a segment connecting current events to a variety of classroom disciplines. The third segment, WorldView, provides a cultural and historic perspective to world events, and NEWSROOM Chronicle is a segment focusing on issues important to young people around the world.

Next month, CNN Newsroom will celebrate Cinco de Mayo with a special airing of the popular series “Viviendo en America” (Living in America). The five-part series will examine the ever-growing Hispanic influence in all aspects of American culture, from politics and art to business and education. Accompanied by an extensive online curriculum guide, the series will air May 1-5.
