New Releases - Early Literacy Assessment Made Easy

From Advantage Learning Systems, STAR Early Literacy computer-adaptive diagnostic assessment is designed to assess reading skills in students from pre-kindergarten through grade 2. The software tests over 100 key skills, and monitors students' growth through the school year. More than 2,000 test items cover seven domains of skills: phonemic awareness, phonics, general readiness, graphophonemic knowledge, comprehension, structural analysis and vocabulary. The program stores student results and can be administered multiple times during the school year, enabling teachers to fine-tune instruction.

Administering the STAR Early Literacy assessment takes only 10 minutes per child, and incorporates graphics, audio instructions, and adaptive branching technology that adjusts the level of questions to the child's ability. The software generates 16 reports, including student growth and parent reports, to help teachers guide instruction and reduce paperwork.
