Software Enlightens Parents as it Tracks Kids' Computer Usage

Guiding Light Software introduces Lighthouse, an application that tracks computer usage and provides parents with screen shots and recordings of their children's online activity. Lighthouse can work alongside Internet filtering software and services. The program is designed to run in the background, recording children's activities as they access Web sites, play games, download files, send and receive e-mail, visit message boards, and compose documents on word processing programs. Parents can specify the programs they want to record. Lighthouse also keeps track of when and for how long specific applications were run. The software is tamper-proof, and attempts to disable the application are recorded. Lighthouse is easy to use and requires no technical knowledge. The program runs on any PC with a Pentium processor or equivalent in a Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000 or Windows NT 4 or later environment.
