California Lottery to Fund Internet Trade Course
The California State Lottery has partnered with the REIS Foundation of Los Angeles to fund a year-long program that brings technology and entrepreneurial training to the classroom. The program was designed from data and educational resources provided by The World Business Exchange Network, an online international trade association that helps members establish and run a home-based business in the international trade industry.
Currently, the program is being implemented in 14 California schools, with plans to expand it nationally. The course teaches students how to establish their own home-based business, and evaluate and follow through on import/export opportunities. It also teaches the importance of technology and world trade on the domestic and global economies. The course integrates basic studies while teaching students about opportunities available in international trade. Students learn how to work cooperatively in a group, improve their oral and written communication skills, and run a successful business. Any student proceeds from the course will go to the school's scholarship program. For more information on the program, contact The World Business Exchange Network, Los Angeles, CA, (800) 537-7347, www.wbe.net.The California State Lottery has partnered with the REIS Foundation of Los Angeles to fund a year-long program that brings technology and entrepreneurial training to the classroom.
