International Online Community Available to Students, Teachers

Oracle has launched Think.com Version 2.0, an international online community and collaborative learning environment for students and educators around the world. The advertisement-free site is offered as a free, centrally-hosted and managed service to primary and secondary schools in the United States and the United Kingdom. A Spanish version of the site is set to debut in Chile next spring.

Designed as a protected Web destination accessible only to registered members at participating schools, the site provides students with a global forum for sharing ideas, creating personal Web pages and collaborating on group projects. Think.com provides teachers with an online self-study tutorial so they can quickly and easily incorporate the tool into their classroom. New features include an enhanced student-friendly interface, updated navigational abilities, increased functionality for managing user communities and expanded teacher tools.

Think.com serves more than 60,000 student and teacher members. Each member has a personal Web page within the site to which they can post articles, upload images and host discussions. Oracle, Redwood Shores, CA, (800) ORACLE-1, www.oracle.com.
