Minolta's DiALTA Di183 and Di152

For educators concerned about price, Minolta introduces two inexpensive digital printer/copiers, the DiALTA Di183 and Di152. The Di183 produces 18 ppm, while the Di152 produces 15 ppm. The features of both models are very similar. The solution's ppm speed and maximum paper supply are the two main differences. The Di183 can be configured for a maximum paper supply of 1,425 sheets, while the Di152 can be configured for a maximum of 600 sheets. Both systems have a 600 x 600 dpi copy resolution, 256 levels of grayscale and Minolta's next generation Micro-Toning developing system for high-quality copies with exacting detail. Both are equipped with 16 MB of copier memory, upgradable to 48 MB. To enable printing, users must add a Pi1802e embedded print controller. The print controller fits inside both models so there is no danger of it being removed or disconnected. The Pi1802e is equipped with 16 MB of printer memory, upgradable to support a maximum of 144 MB of memory. In the future, Di183 and Di152 customers will be able to add a fax unit for Super G3/33.6 Kbps fax capabilities. Internet faxing will be available with the optional Internet Fax/Network Scan kit. The Fax Unit includes a TWAIN driver. Minolta Corp., Ramsey, NJ, (201) 825-4000, www.minoltausa.com.
