What's in Space?

Educators can launch students on a space journey with What's in Space?, a two-part program set in SVE & Churchill Media's Science Is Ele-mentary Series. The programs introduce the theories of astronomy and the history of space exploration through video lessons aligned with national standards, hyperlinked glossary terms, assessments, worksheets and more. The Earth, Moon and Space Flight takes a detailed look at Earth from the perspective of space. The program teaches about Earth's solar system, the phases of the moon, the concept of gravity and lunar landings. Stars & Planets begins by studying planets in our solar system. In this part, students explore comets, meteors and asteroids; learn about the birth of a star; and ponder the creation of the universe.

The two-part set is an e-Learning Module title. E-Learning Modules (eLMod) offer media-rich e-learning content that includes high-quality video, audio, hyperlinked text and Web resources that do not require a high-bandwidth connection. The core content of the program can be delivered from a CD-ROM for use on an individual computer or loaded onto a network for schoolwide use through a familiar browser interface. Schools with an Internet connection - even 28.8 K - can take advantage of enhanced features, including links to encyclopedia content and access to a learning section maintained by SVE & Churchill Media.
