Math & the Cosmos and Math & Music are the first two units of Wildridge Education's "A Bigger World" curriculum. These units focus on math, but also incorporate elements of music, history, astronomy and literature to help seventh- through 12th-graders recognize mathematical connections in the world around them.

With Math & the Cosmos, students take an in-depth look at astronomy and its connections to mathematics, physics, history and mythology. Students learn about constellations, graphing star charts, planetary motion, parallax, the motion of the sun, Newton's Laws and more. The CD-ROM includes 10 interactive multimedia lessons; problems, hands-on projects and study questions; audio glossary and vocabulary; a color slide show; Internet activities; assessments with instant analysis; a management system and tools for tracking multiple students; an option to print a student guide with assignments; and a teacher's guide with a complete textbook.

Math & Music is an interdisciplinary program that demonstrates the importance of math skills by correlating those skills to music. Students explore the abacus, tallies, ancient number systems, bases, primes, ratios, fractions, trigonometry, areas, the Pythagorean Theorem, musical scales, harmony and history, music around the world and through time, as well as the anatomy of the ear, and the physics of sound and music.
