Apple eMac Desktop

Apple’s eMac, which started out as a desktop line designed specifically for education, is now being offered at the retail level. The stylish desktop features a 17” flat CRT display, and is powered by a 700 MHz PowerPC G4 processor with 128 MB of SDRAM and a 40 GB ATA hard drive. The eMac comes with five USB ports and two FireWire ports, providing easy plug-and-play connections to peripherals. It also features a choice of a tray-loading CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive. All eMacs are loaded with Apple’s suite of digital lifestyle software, including iPhoto, iMovie and iTunes, as well the latest versions of Mac OS X and OS 9. Apple’s desktop line includes an integrated 16-Watt digital amplifier and stereo speakers, a full-size keyboard and Apple’s optical Pro mouse.
