BSA, Weekly Reader Offer Free Cyber Ethics Curriculum

The Business Software Alliance (BSA) and Weekly Reader are offering “Play it Safe in Cyberspace,” a free curriculum program to help students in grades 3-8 become better online citizens. The program is designed to help students understand cyber ethics, piracy and proper use of software. Dedicated to promoting a safe and legal online world, BSA and Weekly Reader created this program in response to the need to teach young people to value the creativity of others, respect intellectual property and practice responsible computer behavior. BSA cautions that the faster Internet service becomes, the harder it is to protect children from inappropriate or offensive online material and the temptation to download illegal software, music, games or other works. “Play it Safe in Cyberspace” is based on national teaching standards.
