Library of Congress Launches ‘Wise Guide’ Web Magazine

The Library of Congress has launched the Wise Guide Web magazine, available online at www.loc.gov/wiseguide, to introduce new users to the useful and educational resources available at The Library of Congress’ main site (www.loc.gov). The guide will be refreshed monthly, offering links to various topics of interest and the best of the library’s online materials. Each of these links is based on items contained in the library’s collection, database, reading room or other areas. Items on the site include prints, photographs, films, interactive materials, activities, audio recordings, maps, manuscripts, music, digital materials and excerpts from books. In recent months, featured items have included an online exhibition of the first edition of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, a biography on Thomas Jefferson, the life and career of Bob Hope, and a history of Thanksgiving. In the future, the site will also sponsor concerts, lectures, dance performances, film screenings and p'etry readings. The Library of Congress, www.loc.gov.
