Toolbox for Educators Helps Create Compelling Course Content

TechSmith Corp., a provider of screen-capture and recording solutions, has created a Toolbox for Educators with versions for K-12 and higher education. The toolbox is a set of illustrations, tutorials and case studies that give educators how-to knowledge of video editing to create innovative classroom content using TechSmith's Camtasia Studio and SnagIt programs. The K-12 toolbox allows educators to perform such functions as recording whiteboard demonstrations to post on a Web site and incorporating screenshots and/or video into a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. "Creating Visual Training Materials for Labs" gives instructions for creating tutorial videos where students can learn how to perform computer tasks by watching them be done. The higher education toolbox contains many of the same tools as the K-12 toolbox, as well as tools specifically for colleges and universities. It allows professors to add screenshots to course materials such as a syllabi, handouts and course packets.
