T.H.E. joins the 101 family, and it feels like home.

To our readers,

As some of you may have heard,Wendy LaDuke T.H.E. Journal has found a new home as a part of the 101communications publishing family—an organization well-known for its expertise in technology niche publishing. Needless to say, we’re excited about our new “family” and the wealth of resources and opportunities now open to us.

As many of you know, T.H.E. was launched 32 years ago by my father, Edward Warnshuis. His vision for technology’s role in education was far ahead of its time, and I grew up with that vision and my father’s commitment to serve it—and you. I have been honored to carry that torch at this publication for the past 20 years, and the recent move to 101 is just one more step forward in our service to our loyal readership. The 101 publishing concern has an exemplary track record of effectively communicating technology trends, best practices, leadership, and “what’s next” to the audiences in these sectors, and is proud of its award-winning publications.

One of those recognized magazines is our new sister publication in 101’s Education Technology Media Group, Campus Technology, covering the higher education sector, and winner of the Western Publications Association’s 2005 Maggie Award for Best New Trade Publication with a circulation over 50,000. The editorial director of that franchise,Katherine Grayson, has come on board to also lead our team of T.H.E. content creators. Geoff Fletcher, who has so effectively directed T.H.E. content since 2003, will, as editor-at-large for both T.H.E. and Campus Technology, continue to deliver the kind of hard-hitting commentary our readers have come to expect. Additionally, he will be working harder than ever as executive director of T.H.E. Institute—our professional development and consulting arm—to provide educators with the top-level training they need to use and optimize technology in today’s classrooms.

With additional resources for more in-depth editorial coverage of educational technology at our fingertips, and an abundance of content expertise across our 101 sister publications and franchises, we will be building a richer and more dimensional information source for you, our readers, issue to issue, and across our online information resources, in the months and years to come.

We are confident that you will find real value in the enhancements and expansion of content coming your way over future issues and online, and we know that T.H.E.Journal will be helping you to do your jobs better than ever before. We look forward to serving you in the T.H.E. tradition, and now, in the 101 tradition of excellence as well. The best is yet to come!
