AEQUUS TECHNOLOGIES CORP., in a partnership with the nonprofit educational research organization CAST (Center for Applied Special Technology; www.cast.org), has released AspireReader 4.0. The software contains accessibility tools for improving learning outcomes of struggling students. It provides students with a multisensory learning experience when reading DAISY (Digital Accessible Information System) digital talking books, browsing Web sites, and creating and reading rich-text documents. Students select the features that best meet their learning styles and create individualized profiles to match their personal needs. AspireReader 4.0 is available for Windows 98, 2000, ME, and XP.
