Thomson Gale Adds Grokker to Library Search Tools

4/19/2007—Search technology Groxis (San Francisco, CA) and educational publisher Thomson Gale (Farmington Hills, MI) will provide enhanced search functions using Groxis' Grokker for Thomson Gale users at K-12 schools and at public and academic libraries.

Grokker helps research organizations access, explore, organize and share information by leveraging technologies such as federated content access and integrations; results clustering and dynamic filtering; visual exploration of multiple results on a single page; and collaboration tools.

Thomson Gale will incorporate several Grokker features into its PowerSearch search tool and content delivery platform. These features include the ability to run a search on a collection of databases not currently on the PowerSearch platform, such as library catalogs and other vendor's reference databases.

Grokker search capabilities will also be incorporated into Thomson Gale's upcoming PowerSearch Plus, which is slated for release this summer.
