Arkansas District Implements Math and Reading Interventions

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Plato Learning, a provider of K-adult computer-based learning solutions, is working with the Texarkana School District in Arkansas to implement Plato Test Packs with Prescriptions on the Plato Learning Environment and Plato Exam Intervention for its middle and high school intervention, credit recovery and acceleration programs.

The program was purchased last fall, and was put into use for the 2008-09 school year. Plato Test Packs with Prescriptions provide grade-level fixed benchmark assessments in reading/language arts and mathematics. Using assessment results, Texarkana can diagnose individual students' learning gaps and prescribe personalized learning paths to instructional content targeting each student's areas of need.

Texarkana is also implementing Plato Exam Intervention to identify skill gaps and target instruction to maximize students' performance, specifically for high-stakes exams. Students preparing for the Arkansas high-school exit exam, SAT, or ACT can use learning paths aligned to state and national test blueprints to boost students' preparedness and test performance, according to the company.
