Baltimore Deploys Parent Notification Program

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Baltimore City Public Schools this month announced that it has implemented Global Connect's Parent Notification System for communicating with parents and staff members. The school district, which serves about 82,000 students, will begin using the Global Connect system in May.

According to Global Connect, the district will use the system for "routine announcements, such as absence notifications and School Board meeting reminders, as well as emergency messages, such as weather closings, and if, necessary, warnings of extreme emergencies or crisis situations."

The Web-based communication system allows school districts to send a message to telephone numbers, email addresses and cell phones, and also enables polling, real-time reporting and the ability to create custom call lists.
