Teachscape XL Offers Modular, Customizable Professional Development Tools
##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->
Teachscape has announced the upcoming release of its Teachscape XL platform, delivering customizable professional development resources, online.
The new platform takes professional development resources and breaks them into individual components that include text, video, and interactive elements, resulting in a searchable library of modular training tools. The resources can be used by educators and instructional leaders in their original format or taken as parts and combined to create resources suited to their individual needs.
Teachscape said the new offering will allow instructional coaches to observe teachers in the classroom, assess their areas of need, and then develop a program catered to the individual. The system will also provide a tracking feature for the instructional coach, as well as the ability to post message boards and offer "virtual coaching." In addition, there is a private journal option that allows teachers to keep notes and track their thoughts and ideas on the program.
According to the company, Teachscape XL will be available in September, but a pre-release version is available now. Content for the platform is divided into seven main "content families" that include mathematics, early childhood, new teacher support, English language learners, effective instructional strategies, literacy, and elementary sciences. Site license cost is $1,500 per year per content family or $2,500 per year for two to four content families.
