Genetec Releases New Version of IP Access Control

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Genetec has released version 2.0 of its IP access control security application, Synergis. The program provides a unified security console through two modules. SecurityDesk allows the user to control and monitor the security system by consolidating video, audio, and access control data into one interface. ConfigTool is an interface for managing users, cardholders, access credentials, schedules, and hardware devices. It also provides reporting capabilities.

Additions to the new release include remote support capabilities, support for NEC's ExpressCluster high-availability solution, advanced custom card formats, custom field grouping and prioritization, enhanced reporting functionality, support for HID clock-and-data and SmartID readers, and credential enrollment using USB readers from RFIDeas.

The Synergis WebTools client allows users to run Config Tool over a remote connection. The feature doesn't require the download and installation of software at the operator's workstation. Additionally, it doesn't rely on dedicated terminal or presentation servers at the backend.

Support for NEC's ExpressCluster high-availability software provides a low-cost, high-end failover option for protection against server hardware and software failures.
