McKinney ISD Adopts Destiny Textbook Manager To Aid in Loss Prevention
##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->
In a effort to minimize annual textbook loss, McKinney Independent School District in Texas has adopted Destiny Textbook Manager from Follett Software Co. to help maintain its entire textbook inventory.
The Web-based solution is centrally deployed at the district office and allows users to check books in and out through a simple bar-code system. Prior to piloting Destiny Textbook Manager last spring, all textbook inventory was handled through multiple spreadsheets, scattered around the district. The new platform is intended to increase overall efficiency and help improve inventory accuracy. The software will also allow for the transfer of books between schools within the 23,000-student district.
"We had everything in spreadsheets," said Sonja Bens Harrison, the district's director of administrative services, in a prepared statement. "You had to actually go to a campus or warehouse to verify information. With Destiny we can log on from any campus in the system, from a laptop anywhere, and keep up with warehouse and campus inventory, look at loss reports, add or delete inventory and more."
McKinney ISD will be rolling out the new system throughout the entire district this month.
