Pembina Moves to Unified Communications

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Pembina Trails School Division in Winnipeg, Canada is moving to a unified communication solution that was the result of a partnership between Objectworld Communications and Grandstream Networks.

The solution combines more than 500 Grandstream GXP280 IP phones with the Objectworld Unified Communications Server, giving the division's 2,000-plus employees access to a host of technology assets. Features of the system include VoIP, unified messaging (for desktop retrieval of faxes and other communications), virtual voicemail, voice paging, and emergency outdialing, among others.

"This partnership helps us put hundreds of quality phones together with unified communications capabilities across our schools for remarkably low cost. Objectworld's solution already saves us up to $200,000 [per] year with unified communications. By adding Grandstream's phones to the solution, it will help us save more while making it easier for our teachers and staff to stay in touch with parents," said Don Reece, director of information technology at Pembina Trails School Division, in a prepared statement.

Through the deployment, Pembina plans to see a significant reduction in the total cost of ownership, as well as enhanced functionality and streamlined system deployment and management.
