Report: Virtual Learning Expands Educational Opportunities

Virtual learning is not for all students. But for many, according to a new report from the State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA), it can provide opportunities and access that might otherwise be unavailable, and it's therefore a critical component in the educational mix.

NASA To Award Fellowships in Endeavor Science Teaching Certificate Project

NASA has announced a new science teacher certificate program that aims to award more than 200 fellowships to teacher in the next five years. Dubbed the Endeavor Science Teaching Certificate Project, the program will expose teachers to NASA science and engineering and help guide them in applying that experience in K-12 classroom instruction.

Arizona Joins Partnership for 21st Century Skills

The Partnership for 21st Century Skills recently reported that Arizona has joined its State Leadership Initiative--the 10th state to join to date. According to the organization, this brings the total number of students reached to to 7.3 million.

VMware Fusion 2.0.1 Gets Performance Boost

VMware has released an update to Fusion, its desktop virtualization solution for Mac OS X. The latest release, version 2.0.1, which began shipping Friday, includes a number of resolved issues, performance enhancements, and other improvements, as well as compatibility updates for the latest Apple MacBook and MacBook Pro systems.
