Ed Sec'y Wants Increased Rigor in School Reform Reporting
At a conference of the Institute of Education Sciences Monday, United States Secretary of Education Arne Duncan implored researchers and state agency workers to apply increased rigor when analyzing and reporting on school reforms.

Partnership for 21st Century Skills Adds 3 States to Membership
The Partnership for 21st Century Skills has added three more states to its membership. The group announced Tuesday that Indiana, Louisiana, and Nevada have joined the organization, bringing the total state membership to 13.

Utah Education Network Connects Rural and Urban Schools
The Utah Education Network, a non-profit school consortium, has teamed up with Qwest Communications to deliver high-speed network services to Utah schools. The "multi-year, multimillion-dollar agreement" will connect 21 of Utah's 40 school districts to Qwest's GeoMax fiber-optic network.
