Algebra Prep App Comes to iPhone
Pearson has announced the availability of the new AlgebraPrep: Factoring application at the Apple App Store. Designed for use on the iPhone and iPod Touch, the application offers supplemental help to algebra students in the form of video tutorials and practice tests.
As part of the AlgebraPrep series of apps, a joint venture of Pearson Education and Modality, the Factoring application features extensive algebra problems designed to challenge and enhance students' mastery of the subtopic, with all functions and features accessible via touchscreen technology. Problems are presented in the form of "practice tests," with each question comes immediate feedback, when requested by the user, that includes quick tips and detailed video instruction by noted mathematics professor and textbook author K. Elayn Martin-Gay.
Following the practice tests, users will have a chance to assess and grade what they've learned with "mini tests," 10-minute exams designed for brief review of the subtopic.
The AlgebraPrep series will continue to release titles covering different algebra subtopics throughout 2009, including: Quadratic Equations, Graphing, Systems, Roots & Radicals, and several others. AlgebraPrep: Factoring is currently available at the App Store for $2.99.
