CBT/Smartdesks Intros Mobile, Self-Contained HD Videoconferencing System
CBT/Smartdesks has launched Viewpoint, a mobile, high-definition videoconferencing system that contains everything needed to connect to a conference but that can be rolled from location to location. The system has a table, camera, 16:9 monitor, mounted codec, and cable management system. The system occupies a 9' x 9' space.
The specially designed tabletop is shaped such that participants are seated at the correct distance and spacing for the camera. The camera is mounted to a central post at eye level, along with monitor and lights. It can be used in either seated or standing positions, since the table is height adjustable from 27 inches to 38 inches in one-inch increments.
In a distance learning classroom, the instructor is presented on a large HD screen. The remote camera can be controlled by the instructor by remote control, including pan, tilt, and zoom, to get a close up of a student speaker. The instructor is lit by battery-operated, variable-intensity LEDs equipped with diffuser screen and warming gel for skin tones.
For demonstrations, the HD camera can be physically manipulated to point to an object or process. A composition frame ensures all participants, or objects, are within camera view.
