Sinkholes!

For all of the geography teachers at FETC, the word of the day is sinkholes. What usually is a one hour sprint to Orlando from Tampa turned into a two hour wait on the I4 corridor. Thanks to the cold weather, the strawberry farmers in Plant City have been continuously watering the crops to avoid a freeze. This has caused the groundwater level to become low creating sinkholes throughout the area including what the Florida Highway patrol fear is a potential road cave in on the highway. Good thing I’m a techie, found an alternate route on my iPhone and got around much of the wait. The keynote is about to start. I’m looking forward to presenting tomorrow.
