Discovery Education To Stream Natural History Series

Discovery Education has announced it will stream each episode of Discovery Channel's new natural history series Life beginning the day after it premieres on the cable TV network. The company made the announcement at FETC 2010, being held this week in Orlando, FL.
Described by the channel as "the definitive exploration of our planet's living things and their spectacular, bizarre and fascinating behaviors," the 11-part series, narrated by Oprah Winfrey, gives viewers glimpses into the fascinating behaviors of several types of animal, as well as the curious natural processes and and phenomena that occur in various forms of plant life. Filmed on all seven continents in high definition and using groundbreaking techniques, Life aims to offer an unprecedented look at the natural world.
The series will premiere on the Discovery Channel in late March. On the day following each episode's premiere, it will be available to subscribers of Discovery Education streaming Plus, along with supporting educational materials and teacher guides broken into three grade brackets, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12.
Episodes topics cover all divisions of the animal kingdom, including mammals, reptiles and amphibians, birds, fish, and insects, as well as special episodes on predators and prey, deep-sea creatures, and a time lapse exploration of the adventures of plant life.
