Samsung LED-Based Data Projector To Deliver 1,000 Lumens

Samsung announced recently that it's developed a new LED-based data projector that will deliver a brightness of 1,000 ANSI lumens.

With the LED, the new F10M has no lamps that need replacing. Samsung said that the LED has a lifespan of more than 30,000 hours and that brightness does not degrade over time.

Samsung said its LED technology offers greater color intensity than some other projection technologies and a wide color gamut. For educators, this means materials can be projected onto a blackboard or green board in addition to white boards and screens.

The F10M comes equipped with PC-free File Viewer, which allows presenters to work directly from a USB memory stick on Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF documents in their native file formats. This projector also offers closed captioning and digital focus.

Other key specifications of the F10M include:

  • XGA (1,024 x 768) native resolution;
  • Image size ranging 40 inches to 300 inches; and
  • HDMI input, along with VGA connectivity.

The new model measures 11.7" x 10.6" x 3.5" and weighs in at 9.9 pounds. The F10M will be available through Samsung reseller channels in the second quarter of 2010 with pricing to be announced.
